Legacy Portraits

Private Studio - Western Sydney

Some things are worth making permanent.

No photograph has ever quite captured who you are. You've always known that.

A portrait is different. Made with intention, built to last, and capable of meaning more the longer it exists.

This is photography. It just happens to result in art, portraits created to endure, for this moment and generations to come.

My People

You have become someone worth recording. You have built something, or become someone, worth recording properly. Not a headshot. A portrait made specifically for you, at this moment in your life, with the care and craft that your story deserves. This is not vanity. It is recognition.

You already know the difference. So do I. You understand the difference between a photograph that shows what someone looks like and one that carries who they actually are. You want the second one. Most photographers cannot give it to you.

Before everything changes. Something is about to change. A child leaving. A family gathering across generations while it still can. This is that portrait, made before this version of your family becomes something different. Some moments announce themselves. This is one of them.

More yourself now than you have ever been. You are more yourself now than you have ever been. That deserves to be recorded properly, with intention and dignity, and made into something worth living with on your wall for decades. Most of us are barely present in our own photographs. This is you changing that.

Portraits in 3 steps

01. The Conversation We start by talking — about you, what you want, and whether this is the right fit. In person, by phone, or over coffee if you are local.

02. The Session 45 to 90 minutes in my private studio in Glenmore Park, Unhurried. Everything we have discussed leads to this. All that's required of you is to be present.

03. The Viewing One week later you return to see the work presented properly. Full size, in a quiet room, with no distractions. This is where the portraits reveal themselves.

I have been a professional photographer for 20 years. The craft is photography. What you are left with is a portrait that becomes part of your legacy.
Photography has been part of my life since I was 13, and every portrait I make is built on that lifetime of observation.

Journal

Short written pieces on photography, process, and perspective — drawn from decades of working, observing, and thinking about images. These are not tutorials, but reflections on how and why the work is made.

Workshops & Masterclasses

Alongside the portrait work, a small number of photography workshops and masterclasses are held each year.

These are not traditional camera classes. The focus is on observation, light, and the decisions that shape a photograph, whether in the studio, amid the streets of Sydney’s CBD, or in the changing light of the Blue Mountains.

Some workshops explore studio lighting and portrait craft, while others step outside into urban and architectural photography or into landscape and natural light studies.

All are built around the same principle: learning to recognise when light, place, and timing come together to make a photograph worth keeping.

Small groups. Unhurried days.
A chance to look more carefully at how photographs are really made.

Begin the Conversation

Every session starts here.

Not with a booking form or a calendar widget, with a conversation. Tell me a little about what you are looking for, and I will come back to you personally from my studio in Western Sydney. No automated responses, no waiting in a queue.

If you have read this far and something on this site has resonated, that is enough to start. I will take it from there.
